About the charity.

Cancer Research UK is the leading charity dedicated to cancer research. With one in three lives effected by cancer it is a lucky person who can say their life hasn't been touched by this desease.

By supporting Cancer Research UK we are supporting the work they do, not only in the field of desease research but also providing invaluable information to patients and their families, running cancer awareness programmes to help people reduce their risks of getting the desease and lobbying and campaigning to keep treatment and care of cancer patients within political view.

The work of Cancer Research UK has seen survival rates for cancer drop, pancreatic cancer treatments improve, drug development for hereditary cancers, better radiotherapy treatments for breast cancer, the list goes on. So what has this got to do with Camping Kidz Ltd?

We have challanged our Managing Director, Lesley to walk the distance of a marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK. She's been dragging her kids and dog round the countryside for years so this seemed like the ideal challange.

Lesley will walk 26 miles from Goring-on-Thames to Thame, following the Ridgeway path for most of the way just veering off it at the end where she will follow the Pheonix Trail to Thame town centre. The walk will take place on the 10th October 2009 and she will be raising sponsership money for Cancer Research UK.
